What’s the significance of Bitcoin Pizza Day, you ask?
On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer from Florida, made history when he purchased two pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins, marking the first-ever recorded transaction for a tangible item using Bitcoin. Back then, 10,000 Bitcoins were worth approximately $41, but today, they are valued at millions of dollars. This event is seen as a pivotal moment in the history of Bitcoin, as it demonstrated its potential as a means of payment and paved the way for its adoption as a widely-accepted digital currency.
To honor this momentous occasion, we have planned an evening filled with exciting activities, including:
-
A brief history of Bitcoin Pizza Day and its impact on the Web3 industry.
-
Networking opportunities with like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs, and experts in the Web3 space.
-
A delicious variety of pizzas to enjoy, as we reminisce about the legendary transaction that started it all.
Whether you’re a seasoned Bitcoin enthusiast or just getting started in the world of Web3, this meetup is the perfect opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the spirit of innovation that Bitcoin Pizza Day represents.
Don’t miss out on this chance to be a part of history and join us on May 22nd!
We look forward to seeing you there!
