The latest edition of our weekly Dezeen Agenda newsletter features the reopening of the Thomas Heatherwick-designed Vessel viewpoint. Subscribe to Dezeen Agenda now.

The Vessel in New York has reopened, with a steel mesh added to the exterior to prevent people from jumping from its platforms after four people died of suicide at the viewpoint.

The mesh surrounds the exterior of the viewing platforms while still providing views of the surroundings.
